Here’s a summary of some of our latest releases and product updates to keep you informed about what we have been working on.

  • Pre-Summer Release
  • Box Updates
  • Auth0 and SSO Announcement
  • SSL Certificate Update

Pre-Summer Release

Our Core Apps team is excited to announce the latest beta version prior to the official summer release of the next Core Apps for Samsung Tizen, LG webOS, BrightSign (including Series 5), and Windows.

The key improvements include:

  • Updated OSD for on-device troubleshooting, network checks, and network configuration.
  • Reporting of Firmware Types
  • Improved video playback on Tizen and BrightSign.
  • UDP on-device synchronizer for synced playback
  • Device policy fix.

Box Updates

The latest Box updates deliver improvements and patches, with our team upgrading the underlying infrastructure for an even smoother, faster user experience. Selected improvements include:

  • Enhanced monitoring with additional device filtering
  • Improved mobile view on bulk action detail
  • Advanced screenshot filters with the new on-demand screenshot action

Auth0 and SSO Announcement

We’re pleased to announce that signageOS will be rolling out login via Auth0, the leading authentication service. This update will allow you to start using Single Sign-On capabilities over Google, Microsoft, and others. For our enterprise customers, there will be an option for SAML and IdP logins. The public release of Auth0 and SSO will be phased out, and you will receive an update once your account has been migrated to the new login option.

SSL Certificate Update

We’ll be updating our main SSL certificate, migrating from DigiCert to GlobalSign.Based on our extensive testing, GlobalSign certificates are the only ones supported across all of our supported hardware, including legacy models from 2006 (SSSP2, SSSP3, webOS 1, webOS 2, and Android 4.4). If you’re dealing with legacy devices, we strongly recommend testing your SSL certificate to ensure smooth operations. Please note that Let’s Encrypt only works on newer devices.
